The Abercrombie/Erskine/Mintzer/Patitucci

jazz and popular music. In addition, each has led

On this video the band performs a set of eight
brilliant compositions (two by each member of
the group) which range in style from the spiritual
ballad feel of "The Well" by John Patitucci, to
the second-line funk of "Cats and Kittens" by
Peter Erskine; from the country-inflected swing
of "That's For Sure," by John Abercrombie, to the
strutting groove of "Modern Day Tuba," by Bob Mintzer.

Interspersed between these phenomenal performances
each member of the group steps forward to discuss his
own approach to playing his instrument and to playing in an
ensemble. A very special concert and clinic all in one.

VICTOR WOOTEN (YIN-YANG)
Featuring in-session footage from Vic's
"Yin Yang" album.

With: Bela Fleck, Jeff Coffin, Joseph Wooten and
Regi Wooten.

Making Music features two of the most creative musicians in contemporary music. Victor and Carter have known each other since they were kids, growing up in Charlottseville VA, but the "Yin Yang" album was the first project that they had ever done together. Hudson Music filmed these two incredible musicians for two days while they recorded two tracks for "Yin Yang" (Compass Records). Making Music will give you an inside look as two great songs, "Zynergy" and "Resolution" are introduced, developed and recorded. It's a fascinating process to watch when players of this caliber are involved.

Also featured is material from an additional shoot in a NYC recording studio. Over the course of this session Carter and Victor discuss their approaches to both songs and isolate the bass and drums parts for each. They also cover such topics as playing in odd times, styles, musicianship, turnarounds and more.

Running Time: 95 minutes

VICTOR。。。
