“Ben’s friends heard about my Millennium Falcon guitar and searched the internet to find me,” Stevens says. “They wanted somethingStar Wars–related, and I came up with the Han Solo idea shortly after finishing the Falcon guitar. The rectangular shape worked well as it’s similar to the Bo Diddley signature Gretsch ‘Twang Machine,’ and Han in Carbonite is one of the most iconic images from the Star Wars movies.”

Dear friends, we thank you for the interest in our work. In the last few weeks we receive hundreds of enquiries from all over the world and we want to give an answer to everyone. The Skate Guitar is a team design made by Ezequiel Galasso (luthier) and Gianfranco De Gennaro (Pro Skater and guitar player). It's build based on skateboards reuse. With two used or broken skateboards we make a complete guitar, body and neck. Our intention is to achieve a simple and functional instrument, using the quality of the laminated maple, a 24” ¾ scale and the accessories selected according to the particular style of each skateboard. Our instruments are completely handmade, one by one, by Ezequiel Galasso in our workshop located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It's not our intention to lose the essence of our handcrafted method and our philosophy about how things should be. That is why, on account of the highly interest we got, we are trying to find the way so everyone that wants to can have a Skate Guitar. Right now we can only release small series every now and then.
